That’s New at RBHS |
|
By Deborah Jackson   RBHS President If you have visited the Morrell House lately, you most likely noticed a new television set upstairs in the library. As the Historical Society has been meticulously furnishing and accessorizing the house from the turn-of-the-century through the early 1940’s, you might be confused to see a brand new television. The Historical Society has recently acquired the complete 44 compact disk “Speaking of Redondo” series prepared by the 2004 Leadership of Redondo Class. These are gems and we want to encourage everyone to drop by to view them. The stories and information on these CD’s are told by several prominent local citizens. We have the house opened most weekends from noon until 4:00 pm, so please drop by to view these personal stories on our new television. The Historical Society hosted our first Holiday Party in early December, and the event was so well attended that we plan to make this an annual event. The house was decorated for the Holidays, we had delicious refreshments, and wonderful entertainment. Thank you to everyone who helped out. Also, thank you to everyone who brought unwrapped toys to the party for donation to the Cheers for Children. You all helped to brighten Christmas for kids who otherwise would have gone without presents. We are putting the finishing touches on a self-guided tour brochure of the Morrell House. It is filled with information on the house, its history and its furnishings. Thank you to everyone who helped put this together. As always, we are looking for feedback from our members in what you would like to see from the Historical Society, so please feel free to contact us with your ideas. Thank you to everyone for your support! |
